MARCIA HINES

Her Story

Marcia Hines is an Australian music icon and bona fide national treasure.  From continuous concert touring to the judging table on Australian Idol and constant new music recording, Ms Hines is a wonder to behold!

Moving to Sydney from Boston to Sydney in 1970, at just 16, to star in the Australian production of Hair and then moved to the role of Mary Magdalene in Jesus Christ Superstar.

A career five decades long has followed with 22 albums selling 2.8 million copies, chart-topping singles and multiple platinum albums. Her journey is inspirational and her ability to reinvent and create new music is astounding.

A new single in 2024, ‘I’ve Got The Music In Me’, in collaboration with Sgt Slick, topped the Australian dance and club charts through Christmas 2024/2025.  This follows the success of the ‘Still Shining’ 50th anniversary compilation album and ‘The Gospel According to Marcia’, a statement of Marcia’s commitment to the music of her childhood.

A further single release, this time her smash hit “You”, has been remixed by Teddy Cream and is being released in late June, 2025.

There’s also the global success of the circus, burlesque, discotheque spectacular ‘Velvet’, directed by Craig Ilott that Marcia has starred in since 2015.  Her love of high-energy theatre performance is legendary.

This is a story of strength, commitment and relationship to an audience that has loved and admired Marcia, as she has them.
